What People are saying about Coach Jack Pennock

"I know you always ask me "For What!" When I say thank you. Well, this is what I came up with after a hard fought game of baseball. You gave my son the opportunity to fight his way through a challenge, you taught him a life lesson that a lot of kids don't get the chance to experience. There will be more challenges in his life, but he will be able to look back at this one experience and know that if he weathered this one, he can make it though another. I did tell him to pray yesterday and ask the good Lord for guidance, I reassured Colton, that He was with him. Today, April 11, 2011, I have a stronger son than I had the day before and Jack, that is why I say "Thank You. God Bless you."

"I was 12 years old when I had dreams about going into the professionals. I told my little league coach at the time what I wanted to do in life. I told him I wanted to become a professional baseball player and he referred me to Coach Jack. I remember when I first met Jack I was scared of him but I was completely wrong! The big Teddy Bear taught me how to develop into a strong and effective pitcher throughout my career. I have learned in my playing experience that the right and safe mechanics will not only make you an effective pitcher but prolong your career in this high risk for injury sport. I was fortunate enough to have met Jack and work with him giving me an edge on others that don’t have this type of coaching. I have thrown a total of 5 no-hitters, 2 one-hitters, and 1 two-hitter in my high school career. "

"I started going to Coach Pennock at 13, when my dad took me to see him for pitching lessons. I continued to go to him throughout high school. He taught me the basic mechanics of pitching as well as the mental aspects of the game. He also stressed how important it was for me to do well in school. He said that my grades, not just my athletic skills, were important if I wanted to play college baseball. In high school, I was voted "Pitcher of the Year", my junior and senior years. Currently, I am a freshman playing baseball at Northern State University.

"My first introduction to Jack Pennock was as a young little leaguer. My father took me to see him for pitching and hitting lessons. I remember Jack had me start with the basics. He always encouraged me to work hard and do well in school. The mechanics, skills and approach to the game that I learned from him are still things I use to this day."

"I play baseball at the University of Utah. I have been training with Coach Jack since I was eight years old. It is truely amazing
how much one man can help a boy become a man and help him quality for college academics and sports. Jack has taught me more than just how to hit, throw, catch and field. He taught me the mental aspect of baseball, which is the most important part sport. Jack is an amazing coach and really does know what he is talking about. With Jack's help I created a path to college through my academic and athletic skills combined. I gained a great friend out of my years working with
Jack Pennock. I love and respect this man more than any other coach I have ever had."

"I have been a student of Jack's for approximately 8 years, and have been nothing but pleased with the results. Jack's grasp of the fundamentals of the game is solid and consistent with the techniques taught by coaches with whom I have interacted on the high school and college levels. Jack has not only been a great coach to me, but also a trusted mentor and friend. It is largely a credit to his influence that I find myself at Amherst College, a fantastic school both academically and athletically. Our baseball team has won its conference the past two seasons, and I hope to win a College World Series before my days here are done. Jack Pennock has my highest recommendation to be your son's coach."

             -Angus Brockie,  Amhurst College Baseball

Angus began playing baseball at six; he loved the game and played hard but had trouble hitting. He agonized and practiced with little improvement. For Christmas when he was 9 years old I decided to find him some hitting lessons. The best hitter on his team had been going to see Jack Pennock, so I made arrangements with Jack. The very first lesson Angus was able to hit the %&!! out of the ball. I spoke to Jack about coming back in a month, but he insisted on weekly lessons. I wasn’t certain that I could afford it, but it was the best money I have ever spent on my child (By the way, Jack's lesson prices run about 1/2 of other coaches in town). Angus learned to hit and so was inspired to continue to play. He played varsity shortstop on his high school team, and last weekend I took him to Amherst College in Massachusetts to play baseball. Jack is not only a gifted and sensitive coach, but a powerful, honorable and generous man.

"I started working with Coach Jack early during Little League, and continued through high school. With his support I played on All-Star teams, AABC state and regional champions, and AABC World Series. I played four years of high school ball with a CIF title as a junior, and received All-Palomar 1st Team recognition as a senior. From the beginning Coach Jack taught me the basic mechanics of pitching, hitting, and fielding that allowed me to be successful on the field. Perhaps even more importantly, Coach Jack stressed and emphasized the mental aspect of this game I love, and taught me to be a pitcher not just a thrower. I will carry his teaching along with me as I continue my baseball career in Div I NCAA baseball."

           -Russ Lowell

Russ and Coach Jack hit it off right away during his first couple of lessons. After that he rarely missed a week. Whenever Russ needed a “tune-up”, coach made time for him and quickly achieved the results he wanted. Coach Jack took a young ballplayer with potential, who was willing to work hard, and crafted him into a successful, fundamentally sound player, who earned both individual awards, a CIF title, and a college scholarship. Coach Jack brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and experience to his students and teaches what it takes to achieve on both the mental and physical sides of our national pastime."
